IKEBANA / The Art of Flower Arrangement
IKEBANA is one of the cultural traditions of Japan, the origin can be found in early Buddhist teachings, which appreciates the natural beauty of various flowers and trees. It then developed into a distinctive art form. IKEBANA concentrates on the choice of material and container, the placement of the branches, and the relationship of everything to each other and the surrounding space.
There are many different types of IKEBANA styles and schools. However, the common characteristics of IKEBANA can be detected as expressing vast cosmos with fewer flowers in limited space. Therefore, IKEBANA is deeply connected with the human spirituality. |
